• Corinne Curtis, Senior Adjuster
Corinne spent 15 years managing independent coffee shops in the Seattle area where she also curated monthly art shows. During that time, she developed a strong ability to connect with and read people from various backgrounds. She majored in Applied Psychology at City University of Seattle in 2011. Corinne was introduced to the Maritime insurance industry in 2011 when she joined Aasgard Summit Management Services. From day one, she dove into virtually all aspects of claims handling. With a genuine love of helping people, she quickly became a claims adjuster and has built a solid reputation within the industry for building good rapport with claimants which has resulted in resolving complicated matters on best terms and without attorney involvement. She specializes in handling P&I, Jones Act, passenger claims and discrimination/harassment investigations. Clients have consisted of tug and barge, commercial fishing, petroleum transportation and marine construction/dredging operations. She is a past board member and President of Puget Sound Maritime Claims Association (PSMCA) and holds memberships in professional associations in the community. Corinne is currently a licensed adjuster in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Louisiana.

• Mark Coberly, Senior Adjuster
Mark has worked in the insurance industry since 1986. He began his career with The Hartford as a claims examiner trainee handling workers' compensation claims under the California State Act. Mark began working in the maritime industry in 1992 with Eagle Insurance Group. While at Eagle, he handled U.S. Longshore & Harbor Workers' claims, which included exposure to marine claims that fell under the Jones Act while performing duties as a claims supervisor. Mark's claim adjusting experience includes TPA oversight for various insurance carriers that involved multi-state workers' compensation claims and required comprehension of various state jurisdictions. Mark's experience extends to working with and for various reinsurers and pool managers from both the domestic and foreign markets. Mark also holds his Hawaii state workers' compensation adjuster's license and is a member of the Honolulu Association of Insurance Professionals and the Hawaii Claim Association.

• Kim Milum, Senior Adjuster
Kim graduated from Central Washington University with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Human Resources in 2000. She worked as a Human Resources and Safety Manager in both the construction and maritime industries from 2000-2008. Kim was a Senior Adjuster with Aasgard Summit Management Services from 2009 to 2021 during which time she built a reputation as a top adjuster in the industry. She has a unique ability to build relationships with both clients and claimants which is an asset in reaching her overall goals of returning injured workers to work, resolving and keeping claim costs to a minimum. Kim is currently a licensed adjuster in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

• Chrissy Hardy, Senior Adjuster
Chrissy has worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years, specializing in Jones Act claims. She has a strong background in minimizing litigation expenses through attentiveness and conflict resolution with mariners at all levels. Chrissy is also familiar with Collective Bargaining Agreements and unions including, but not limited to, Seafarers International Union, American Maritime Officers, Marine Engineers' Beneficial Union, Masters Mates and Pilots, and Local25. Chrissy has experience with commercial shipping, sealift command fleets, dredging, ferry systems, and commercial fishing companies, and is a licensed adjuster in 32 states.

• Alex Kilkelly, Claims Assistant
Alex graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Fisheries Sciences in 2011. Her first job in the maritime industry was as an At-Sea Fisheries Observer on the fishing vessels in Alaska, where she lived and worked with the fishermen for months at a time. For about 5 years as an observer, Alex was able to see first-hand the amount of work, sacrifice, and grit it takes to be an Alaskan fisherman and gained much respect for those who are able to do the job. She then began working in the Human Resources department for Blue North Fisheries, where she was able to maintain and cultivate close relationships with the fishermen she met. She was involved with, and became passionate about, the claims process working with Blue North’s adjusters at Aasgard Summit Management Services. Alex is a stellar claims assistant on the path to becoming an adjuster at WNW.

• Pamela Bond, Claims Assistant
Pamela graduated from Bethel University with a degree in Theatre. She spent the early years of her career as a producer and script writer for a media production company in Seattle. Pamela was introduced to the maritime insurance industry when she joined Aasgard Summit Management Services in 2014. There she channeled her producer skills and love of working with people into the world of maritime insurance. Pamela presently plays the role of administrative support and claims assistance to the talented cast of WNW.

Michelle Almanza, Director
Michelle graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, then from Hawaii Pacific University with a Master’s degree in Organizational Change. She began her maritime career nearly 20 years ago at Aasgard Summit Management Services, where she honed her management and business development skills. Michelle oversees all aspects of WNW operations including personnel, accounting, data and IT management, reporting and client relations.

Connor Walters, President
Connor graduated from Santa Clara University in 2015 where he majored in Political Science and History, with an emphasis in United States History. He has been working in the marine claims industry since 2011 and has handled claims up and down the East Coast for a variety of clients. He has experience in handling P&I, Jones Act, passenger, marine general liability, and property damage claims. He brings to Walters Northwest strong investigative skills and a keen intuition which helps him successfully adjust claims from first notice to resolution. Connor moonlights as an adjuster with The Walters Nixon Group in New Jersey.

Mike Walters, Principal
Mike has over 30 years’ experience handling liability claims matters. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida (1979), and the University of Cincinnati College of Law (1984). He has been admitted to the Florida and Ohio Bars Associations (not currently active in either). Mike worked briefly as a defense attorney with Fowler White in Tampa, Florida in 1984. From 1985-1990 he was the Claims Manager for Neare Gibbs & Co., the former river marine division of St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company. From 1991-1996 he was Branch Manager for Lamorte Burns & Co.’s New Jersey office, handling and overseeing an array of liability claims. He has been a principal at The Walters Nixon Group since its founding in 1996.
